Today we will be talking about the skin functions which are often overlooked.
First of all, the skin is a sensory organ receiving external stimuli. It protects the body from external aggressions such as UV rays, bacteria and extreme temperatures which is why it is often compared to a fruit skin. Our skin also regulates our body temperature and eliminates waste through sweating. In addition, it participates to the vitamin D synthesis as it directly collects the sunrays.
The skin has a crucial role in our metabolism since it is the first one affected by external aggressions. That is why it is so important to take care of it.
However, taking care of your skin does not mean buying 5 creams, 10 serums and 20 scrubs. Taking care of your skin means, first and foremost, taking care of your entire body by having a healthy lifestyle. Indeed, our skin condition reflects our body condition where nutrition and hydration play a key role.
